St Hildas School

Deputy Head Appointment

We are delighted to announce that Miss M Charles will take up the role of Deputy Head from September 2022.

Miss Charles went to Watford Grammar School for Girls and graduated from The University of Nottingham with a BA (Hons) degree in Sociology. She completed her teacher training at the Institute of Education and spent one of her teaching placements at St Hilda’s before joining the school permanently as Form 4 Teacher in 2013. Miss Charles is currently Form 2 Teacher, Assessment Coordinator and Head of Attlee House. She is also PSHE and Charities Coordinator and teaches French in the Lower School.

Miss Charles knew she wanted to be a teacher from a young age. She is extremely passionate about teaching the next generation and supporting them to become happy, confident and resilient learners. She believes a positive learning environment where children are eager, curious and most importantly enjoy the learning is key to their success.

"I am delighted to have been appointed as Deputy Head from September 2022. It is wonderful to work in such a friendly and nurturing environment where pupils are excited to come to school and learn. I look forward to the next chapter of my journey at St Hilda’s."
